Swimming Through the Morning – 1,750m Done!

SHARE

This morning's swim felt amazing – especially with Mum’s beanie keeping my head warm afterwards!

There’s something so comforting about those little touches of love, especially on chilly swim mornings.

Each time I head to the pool, I set a goal or intention. Today’s focus was on building distance and being more aware of my timing. I hopped in the water at 8:38am, and by 9:14am, I had completed 40 lengths – that’s 1,000 meters in 36 minutes.

I kept swimming and reached 70 lengths total by around 9:30am, covering 1,750 meters in 52 minutes. It was one of those swims where I found my rhythm and just kept going, without stopping. Such a great feeling!

I'm also learning how much of a difference it makes to fuel up beforehand – a good drink of water and a banana before diving in really helped with my energy levels.

Now it’s time to shift gears – off to a dental appointment with one of the kids to kick off the braces journey (wish us luck!). After that? I’ll be unwinding with some slipper knitting. Yes, really!

Thanks for following along on my Big Swim journey – every length is a step closer to the 20km goal.

About this blog

I’m Aley Young, the heart behind The Energy Within Her Blog.

A soft, grounded space where healing, personal growth, and emotional healing meet gentle truth.

This is my living journal - a place where I share the moments, lessons, and inner shifts that have shaped my own healing journey, from nervous system healing and regulation to motherhood, identity, and becoming.

From slow living and mindfulness, to rebuilding self-trust and reconnecting with your intuition and higher self…

this is where I write the things I once needed to hear.

Every piece here is an invitation to soften, breathe, and reconnect with the woman you’re becoming.

This is a space for women empowerment and personal growth, where you are supported in feeling seen, grounded, and less alone as you rebuild yourself from the inside out.

Move slowly.

Begin wherever your heart lands.
